What You Think You Become

Okay so all I need to do is think of money and it will come to me, right!

I want to become a millionaire but I have no money right now. But if I think I am a millionaire I will become one?

It doesn’t quite work like that but certainly learning to listen to ourselves and the language we use on a daily basis is a good way to start developing listening skills that will be part of helping you achieving your goals.

Every individual has their own conversations going on in their head and these are commonly referred to as self-talk.  Positive self-talk is when this verbal aspect to thinking tells us that we can do anything that we set our mind to.  Negative self-talk is when we tell ourselves that we are destined to fail at whatever we try.  Self-talk affects our beliefs, hence the saying by Henry Ford, “whether you think you can or think you can’t you are right!”

Self-talk may be present in our heads but we are in control of our thoughts and we can learn to control our own self-talk so that it comes an asset.  Control of self-talk means that we are selective in what we are feeding into our own subconscious mind and in turn this will help to bring about those things we desire.  If we don’t control our self-talk it will control us.

Years ago I use to work with someone who was very stressed all the time.  It didn’t matter what time of the day or what day of the week he seemed to be stressed.  One lunch time I listened to his language and it was all about stress, stress this stress that, tired this tired that, he even had a coffee mug with the words STRESSED OUT  written on it.  If he actually listened to his self-talk he would be amazed how much a negative impact it had on him with his negative self-talk. What we think and do we become.

Yes we all get stressed and sometimes more than we need too, but to be able to listen to our self-talk and body language to help control the situation, our mind will begin to think differently.

You need to listen to the way you talk to yourself and the language you use.  For example, I will never be a property investor, versus I am a successful property investor.  Or I don’t have any money versus, I have abundance of money.

It doesn’t matter whether you don’t have an abundance of money or no investment properties right now, but by changing the words you use will shift your subconscious mind to think you have abundance of money and you will start to see the opportunities out there that will enable you to achieve your goal of abundance of money which will include investment properties.
